Dr. Spitz is a highly regarded consultant in Forensic Pathology and Toxicology with over 46 years experience in this field. He has authored 90 scientific publications and is the author and editor of the authoritative and celebrated textbook: MEDICOLEGAL INVESTIGATION OF DEATH now in its 3rd edition. He has served on various committees investigating the assassination of President John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King, including the House Committee on Assassinations. Dr. Spitz has testified in numerous high visibility cases in this country and abroad. Dr. Spitz received his medical training at the Geneva University Medical School in Switzerland and the Hebrew University Hadassa Medical School in Jerusalem, Israel. He is certified by The American Board of Pathology in Anatomic and Forensic Pathology. Dr. Spitz was Deputy Chief Medical Examiner for the State of Maryland for 12 years and retired as Chief Medical Examiner for Wayne County, Michigan after 16 years of service. Dr. Spitz is the recipient of numerous awards. In March 1997, he received the Dean's Award for service to the Medicolegal Community and Wayne State University School of Medicine. Today, he continues to lecture and give expert testimony worldwide.
