Dr. Lester D.R. Thompson is a member of the Endocrine and Ortohinolaryngic-Head & Neck Pathology Department at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology (AFIP). He teaches visiting physicians and medical students while also lecturing at national and international meetings in his fields of expertise. He has authored over 100 research papers and abstracts in peer reviewed journals. He is an active member of a number of national and international societies, while also serving on the editorial boards of a number of scientific journals. He finished medical school at Loma Linda University Medical School and completed pathology residency at the University of California, Los Angeles. He is triple boarded in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and Cytopathology. He serves as a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Navy Rescue. He, along with his wife, Pamela, thoroughly enjoy traveling, baking, and exercising.
